How long does video generation take?
+
Most videos are ready in approximately 30 seconds. Longer templates — like the 10–12 second Michael Jackson Classics — may take up to 5–8 minutes depending on server load. A real-time progress indicator is shown throughout. You can leave the app and return — your video will be in the Creations tab when it's done.
Why doesn't the dance look right?
+
Results are best with a full-body photo (head to ankles visible), a clear background, and good lighting. Selfies and close-up shots work for Vocal Covers but give lower-quality results for full-body dances. Avoid busy backgrounds or photos with multiple people. If a result is consistently poor for a specific template, let us know at hello@dancegecko.com — we may need to improve the reference video for that template.
What is Couple Dance mode and how do I use it?
+
Couple Dance mode generates a synchronized dance video featuring two people. Tap any Couple Dance template (Sensual Bachata, Salsa Cabaret, Kizomba Fusion, or Viral Brazilian Duo), then upload two full-body photos — yourself and any other person. Both photos should show the full body from head to ankles. Couple Dance requires an active Pro subscription.
Can I use DanceGecko videos commercially?
+
Generated videos may be shared on personal social media accounts (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, etc.) for non-commercial purposes. Commercial use — including paid advertising, brand content, licensing to third parties, or broadcast — requires separate written permission. Email legal@dancegecko.com for commercial licensing enquiries.
What happens when I run out of credits?
+
Each subscription includes a credit balance: Pro Weekly comes with 99 credits that refresh every week, and Pro Yearly unlocks 900 credits up front. Every dance uses credits based on its length, so longer videos cost more. If you run low, you can buy a Boost Pack anytime inside the app — Small ($34.99 / 350 credits), Medium ($59.99 / 650 credits), or Large ($99.99 / 1,250 credits). Credits from Boost Packs never expire while your account is active.
My video didn't save to Photos. What happened?
+
DanceGecko needs permission to save to your Photo Library. Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → DanceGecko, and set it to "Add Photos Only" or "Full Access." Then try saving again from the Creations tab by long-pressing your video and tapping "Save to Photos."
I was charged for a subscription. Can I get a refund?
+
DanceGecko does not offer a free trial — subscriptions begin and bill immediately on purchase, then auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. We are unable to issue refunds directly — all refund requests must go through Apple. Visit
reportaproblem.apple.com to submit a refund request. Apple handles these on a case-by-case basis. If you have trouble, email us at hello@dancegecko.com and we'll do our best to help you navigate the process.
Are my photos stored on your servers?
+
Your uploaded photos are transmitted over an encrypted connection for AI processing only. They are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours of generation completing (or sooner if it fails). We do not sell, share, or use your photos to train AI models. Generated videos are stored for up to 90 days, then automatically purged. See our
Privacy Policy for full details.
What iPhone models are supported?
+
DanceGecko requires iPhone 13 or newer (A15 chip or later) running iOS 17 or later. Older devices are not supported due to the computational requirements of real-time video processing. An internet connection is required to generate videos — generation happens on our servers, not your device.
How do I suggest a new dance template?
+
Email us at hello@dancegecko.com with the subject "Template Request" and describe the dance (include a TikTok or YouTube link if possible). If your suggestion makes it into a Monday drop, we'll give you 3 months of Pro on us. We genuinely read every suggestion — our editorial team checks this inbox weekly.
